Ski Resorts (resort map)
Alta Ski Resort (Our favorite): Alta has a great ski school and beginner areas, perfect for kids and newbies. Alta also handles large crowds really well, even on the busiest of days we never had to wait in a lift line longer than 10-15 minutes. Note, snowboarders are not permitted at Alta.
Family Tip: If your family is just learning and not sure about buying a full day pass, you can Ski at 3 pm on Cecret and Albion lifts for just $10.
Sundance Ski Resort (Small but charming): If you are south of Salt Lake City in Utah county, then you should definitely check out Sundance Ski Resort. Sundance has low cost lift tickets if you are willing to buy them online. Additionally if you or your kids are learning, you can enjoy the rope tow for free after 2pm. If you are willing to brave the cold temperatures, Sundance is one of the few resorts in Utah that offer night skiing and snowboarding.

Family Tip: Brighton offers kids 10 and under FREE with a paying adult.
Park City Resort (Largest Resort): After Park City Mountain Resort and The Canyons merged together, they created the largest resort in Utah with over 7300 skiable acres and 330+ runs.
